Compare remodeling and rebuilding before demolition
Begin with the condition of the existing structure and what you want the finished home to achieve. Ask the design team to compare a renovation with a new building envelope, including zoning, setbacks, height, access and any property-specific constraints. An existing house does not automatically establish what can replace it. Confirm demolition approvals, utility disconnections, any required material surveys and the new-construction approval path before removing the home.
